Karly Powell, NDDr. Powell is a registered naturopathic doctor who works in partnership with each patient to guide them toward their highest wellness goals. She believes strongly in the power of preventative medicine because of its potential to maximize patients’ enjoyment and quality of life. She ensures that each patient understands how they have arrived at their present state of health as well as the available conventional and alternative treatment options to address disease. With individualized, creative problem solving, Dr. Powell empowers patients to take control of their own health and understand how altering daily habits can result in significant improvements in physical and emotional health.
Dr. Powell specializes in men’s health, pain management, and nutrition. Her expertise includes treatment of depression and anxiety, autoimmune conditions (including thyroid disease), joint diseases, weight loss, and neurological disorders (like headaches, vertigo, and chronic pain), and gynecological health. She is experienced in treating cardiovascular diseases, fertility disorders, and digestive disease and dysfunction. She offers comprehensive preventative care, including coaching for lifestyle and nutritional modifications as well as laboratory and physical exam screenings (such as pap smears, genetic testing, and functional lab analyses). She uses herbal therapies, nutrition, homeopathy, soft-tissue mobilization, and bodywork to treat disease and work towards genuine wellness, frequently working with conventional medical providers to offer comprehensive solutions to these diagnoses. As a marathon swimmer, triathlete, and outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Powell has a special interest in working with athletes to enhance performance and prevent and treat injuries. Dr. Powell earned her naturopathic doctorate from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, OR. She was selected for and completed NCNM’s competitive teaching residency in naturopathic primary care, where she integrated pharmaceutical, surgical and naturopathic treatments to provide the best care modern naturopathic medicine has to offer. |
